On Monday January 24, Senator Ron Johnson held an open discussion with Doctors and Medical researchers. The full streamed video/audio is 5:36:11 Minutes Long and can be found on the Senators Rumble account. Parts of that video also are found just above and below on YouTube. Please Note: This article will be the first in a new series of Articles regarding supplements that I feel may be helpful in combating COVID-19 and it's effects. In fact, instead of writing one big article, I have decided to write separate articles regarding each of the supplements I regard are most effective should you catch COVID-19.  While individual results may of course vary, I believe it is important to explore other options than just those currently provided by the Health Care Industry. I will also describe how I use each of these supplements as a point of reference. However, you may want to do your own research or seek advice from a Nutritionist. Don't get me wrong there are some really good Therapeutics out there. However, I have chosen to go the route of Supplementation. It is my personal choice. In fact I prefer Supplements any day of the week and twice on Sunday over the Clot Shots or Boosters. As for today, I am here to introduce you to a little known Herb known as Andrographis.

Andrographis is a herb that has been around a long time. It has been "used traditionally in Indian and Chinese medicine for several conditions, including the common cold." In fact it can even be used in synergistically with Echinacea as well as other AntiViral and or Antimicrobial Supplements.

Of course, if you are deeply into Supplementation or a Nutritionist it may however be a Supplement you are not only familiar with but something you might recommend to your friends and family during the present set of conditions we are currently facing. In other parts of the World like Thailand who "has made a decision to clear the use of Andrographis paniculata as an herbal medicine to treat COVID-19," as well as Countries like India where Ayurveda Medicine is performed or in China where Tradional Chinese Medicine is practiced it is indeed a lot more popular. With this in mind Andrographis has the potential if used correctly to be an effective "Immune Modulator" or "Immunomodulators." "Immunomodulators are molecules that act on the pathways that regulate the immune system’s activity."

During a search for such potent plant compounds we found a recent study on potential plant compounds which are able to inhibit the Mpro is in a process of publication (Khaerunnisa et al., 2020), while discussing the findings on the paper with group of Siddha and Ayurvedic doctors, they have advised us to examine the properties of the traditional available plant, several plant molecules obtained from medicinal plants were explored. The outcome was that Andrographis paniculata which was found to have anti-viral property and already reported in ancient texts could be investigated as a good bet. We examined the main compound in Andrographis paniculata and found that the main compound in the plant was Andrographolide. Now, if you have been coming to this blog since the beginning or just snooping around here as of late, you may have also read a post regarding Antiviral Supplements. That post from April of 2020; Have you Considered Antiviral Alternatives in The Age of Coronavirus? only briefly mentions Andrographis. I did not go into any details at that particular time regarding it's use and or benefits simply because the article was merely took a broader look at Antiviral Supplementation in general. For those with some awareness regarding Andrographis like myself, know of it's reputation for shutting down Colds and Flu's. So, why not COVID-19?

Normally, I use the product as directed. In fact, I mostly use it during cold and flu season. However, if I were to come down with COVID again I would definitely use it 3 -5 times per day especially since this is a fairly well tolerated herb. It is important that you use this product as soon possible after you test positive or believe you are infected with COVID-19. It makes no sense to wait until you are ready to make a trip to the hospital to start using it. The whole idea is to prevent the Virus from getting out of control. If you get to the point where you are quite ill or if the Cytokine Storms hits, you may have already lost the battle. So don't wait! Be proactive not reactive! 

Andrographis paniculata is a well-known plant in the Indian traditional system of medicine and the principle bioactive compounds has shown credible pharmacological benefits such as supporting healthy inflammation responses, healthy blood sugar levels, healthy immune functions, promoting healthy cardiovascular functions and promoting liver functions. In fact, even our own National Institute of Health has a number of studies and Similar Articles found or linked right to the NIH Web Site. One such example is "Andrographolide as a potential inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2 main protease: an in silico approach," (Published online, May 05, 2020) At first, I surprised that there is so much information regarding Andrographis on the NIH Web Site? However, I am not surprised at what the studies have found.

We examined the main compound in Andrographis paniculata and found that the main compound in the plant was Andrographolide. The plant compound has been evidenced to have anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-obesity and anti-diabetes (Dai et al., 2019). Andrographolide was found to have antiviral properties over many types of viral infections (Gupta et al., 2017) and was found to have activity against Chikungunya (Wintachai et al., 2015) potential inhibitor of herpes simplex virus type-1 (Seubsasana et al., 2011). The study above as well as other looks at a "compound Andrographolide from Andrographis paniculata as a potential inhibitor of the main protease of SARS-COV-2."  Meaning that Andrographolide acts as a Protease Inhibitor by binding itself to proteolytic enzymes (proteases) and blocks their ability to function. Thus inhibiting the viruses ability to reproduce/replicate. If you can reduce the Viruses ability to Replicate, you can then reduce the Viral Load. Obviously, leading to a positive outcome for you, the host.

Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f) Ness (AP) is naturally used to treat various diseases, including infectious diseases. Its Andrographolide has been clinically observed for anti-HIV and has also in silico tested for COVID-19 main protease inhibitors. By the way, not long after COVID-19 first hit Andrographis was hard to find for a while even in some of your best Nutrition Stores. I was very lucky to still have it on hand when I was hit with COVID in November of 2020. I soon ran out because I upped my dosage while testing positive. However, over the past 3 or 4 months I have been able to purchase it and once again and stocking up on it. There are a lot of upsides to Andrographis. I will have a number of links below to studies and articles related to Andrographis. Don't forget to always follow the Direction on the Packaging. If you were to up the amount of the product taken it unlikely you need to do so for too long a period of time.

As far as this Novel Coronavirus is concerned, for the most part, most people recover from SARS‑CoV‑2 pretty well. However, we still do not know if there are going to be plethora of Long Term Side Affects stemming from COVID-19. This may be regardless of how severe or mild of a case you may have had. This may also includes Asymptomatic cases where you may not have had any indication you were infected at all. If however, Coronavirus, does infect you, I wish you well and pray that you recover without any long term affects.

How I personally use Andrographis.

1. There are several manufactures of Andrographis which produce a Liquid Extract, Tablet or Capsule. Follow Directions on Packaging.

2. When I tested Positive for COVID-19 I used Andrographis 3 -4 time per day.

3. Once you have a cleared the Virus for a couple of weeks take a week to 10 days off from the product. In fact, there is not a single Supplement that I do not take a planned break from.

4. While using more than the recommended amount keep track of any possible side affects.

5. Here is a link to RxList.com which which is owned and Operated by WebMD. This will give you a 3rd Party Overview as well as other uses, side Effects and more regarding Andrographis.

News is now spreading fast that a new Variant has now been identified in France. "The IHU variant is believed to be linked to a trip from the African country Cameroon. Experts have expressed concern that this variant could circumvent the existing Covid-19 vaccines, which has been mutated 46 times." If I remember correctly, Omicron had 32 Mutations. But then again who's counting? Right now however, not a lot is known about this new Variant except that it has been linked to around a Dozen or so cases in Southern France and can be traced back to Cameroon.

I am sure by now everyone has heard of Americas Front Line Doctors. AFLDS has made headlines a number of times. ​The section this article today resides in here at Rapid Cooling is supposed to be about "Other Science News." In other words, while the main theme of this website is the opposing argument to Anthropogenic Global Warming, there are plenty of other Topics I find very interesting to present to my readers. Unfortunately, COVID-19 is not really one of them. However, because of the nature of this Virus and the Bastardization of Science regarding COVID-19 I feel I am somewhat obligated to do something. I am going to start out this Article by first apologizing that today I may come across with an "I told you so" or somewhat obnoxious attitude. That of course, is not something that I am intending to do with any forethought. However, it goes back to many things I have said over the past few months. What I first need to point out is I have also communicated from the first moment it was discussed that we might be wearing masks my feelings on the subject. I have spoken with friends and people I know personally; I have also spoke with friends and family long distance on the phone; I have posted my feelings regarding mask wearing on Facebook; Finally I have written about and included my feelings regarding mask wearing here at Rapid Cooling and in one particular article on this blog back on October 6th;

COVID-19 mutation may be evolving to bypass mask wearing, hand washing

Now, we have more information coming out about this new variant of the virus D614G. The news regarding this variant is also mixed at best. While it may not be as harmful it is definitely more contagious. The question remains in my view is whether or not this variant is more harmful, will this sequence of the virus lead to more overall mild infections? This of course, has a whole set of other circumstances we can discuss another day. The other thing to keep in mind as I have said before, is that we are all directly and or indirectly to blame for this new sequence. Furthermore, there are possibly more Variants similar to D614G to come. However, if you want to know the truth. The real blame should be put on the scientific community who did not see this coming. But I did. I told you so! Not too mention many of you reading this here today may not have had COVID-19 as of yet, but may still be in the sights of this new variant!

I should also mention that this particular Variant D614G is also a World Wide Problem not just here in the United States. As Viruses do, they mutate. They find a way to adapt to changing conditions. What needs to be understood is that 614G has pretty much replaced 614D Worldwide. According to the Article linked here from The Scientist, Martin Beer who is a Virologist from the Friedrich Loeffler Institute in Germany said “In this competition experiment, with a 50/50 mixture, the 614G out-competed the 614D in most cases,” he goes on to say. "614G is for sure not less efficient than the 614D. There is a good chance that it is more efficient—for example, in a ‘super spreader’ event." (For more details please refer to the article) Again, I apologize but as I have said before this is what Viruses do. Now, is it possible that we are in a damned if we do and a damned if we don't situation regarding mask wearing? At this point I would say yes. However, the final analysis may not be in for years. But, I am still of the position that we should not have provided training wheels for this virus and wore masks as prescribed from the beginning.

The above study originally published at Cell.com has a few major take aways. The Website Overview from Science Direct mentioned that "Hundreds of new SARS-CoV-2 sequences are added to GISAID each day, so we have automated steps to create daily working alignments" At Cell it is noted in the Summary that "We do not find any indication that patients infected with the Spike 614G variant have higher COVID-19 mortality or clinical severity, but 614G is associated with higher viral load and younger age of patients." In any case it would advantageous that any of you with further interest in the subject of COVID-19 Variants should take some time to check out the links I am providing below for further information.

So, you believe washing your hands 20 times per day and wearing a mask is going to prevent you from getting or spreading SARS-CoV-2 affectionately known as Coronavirus or simply COVID-19. Well, not so fast! See, viruses do what they do. They spread, mutate and find a way around the lines of defense and barriers we put in it's path all while us mere mortals essentially believe we are smarter than a virus. Unfortunately, in one sense we are not exactly as smart as we think we are nor smarter than nature or this virus in particular.

A Virus with the ability to cause a pandemic will eventually find it's way around whatever obstacles we humans put up in between it and us. This is exactly why  the argument in the first place should have been to take the hit upfront and not wear masks. Yes, of course there are some who should have opted to wear a mask. That should be for the most part an individual choice. But not everyone! If we had this sort of thinking up front and not wore masks and hunkered down we mostly likely would not been wearing masks to the extent we are today. This was my personal argument against masks from the beginning. We would have gotten through this whole Pandemic and event much quicker. Not too mention if the virus were to kill everyone in it's path the virus itself would cease to exist. However, that's not what viruses do. They want to carry on. They need to survive in order to replicate and they replicate in order to survive. Yes, it's true that some who host the virus will succumb to it's effects, but most fortunately will not.

In fact, according to an Article from Friday September 23rd in the The Washington Post "Scientists in Houston on Wednesday released a study of more than 5,000 genetic sequences of the Coronavirus that reveals the virus’s continual accumulation of mutations, one of which may have made it more contagious" Again, viruses mutate, evolve, change and adapt over time. Say it anyway you like but this virus is finding it's way and will continue to find a way around most of the obstacles we pace in it's path.

I have hinted along the way that this virus may have been man made. Whether created in a Lab or even possibly a side affect of dropping TSI, this virus nonetheless is quite special. Now if you are from the school of thought this is a Man Made Virus then this would be even more reason to have taken the hit up front. In any event, whether or not this virus was created in a lab, a result of dropping Total Solar Irradiance or simply a freak of nature we are dealing with it's affects. The aforementioned may possibly be an idea for another article, another day but they are something to consider. Keep in mind this virus is not acting like other viruses throughout history. Especially, if you look at Outbreaks and Pandemics during the Little Ice Age. While this Virus with it's complexity of symptoms and conditions it has created is more characteristic of something created in a Lab a lot more needs to be learned.

Massive genetic study shows Coronavirus mutating and potentially evolving amid rapid U.S. spread

D614G, a new strain;
This new strain of the virus "known as the D614G mutation, had higher loads of virus — suggesting it is more contagious" which leads to another question. In fact you may also remember we posted an article here on Rapid Cooling in regards to the question "Does a High Viral Load or Infectious dose make Covid-19 Worse?" (Rapid Cooling, March 27th, 2020) While we are seeing that this new mutation D614G may in fact be more contagious. This strain seems to be mostly better adapted to more easily spread from human to human but may not necessarily more deadly. Of course this is only the preliminary thinking from a paper, which has not yet been peer-reviewed. 

“the clinical data in this paper from Sheffield showed that even though patients with the new G virus carried more copies of the virus than patients infected with D, there wasn’t a corresponding increase in the severity of illness,” said Saphire, who leads the Gates Foundation-supported Coronavirus Immunotherapy Consortium (CoVIC).  (source: Newer variant of COVID-19-causing virus dominates global infections.)

Conclusion; Like all things much still needs to be learned about COVID-19 including how this virus came to be and how many more variants of this virus are in store for us. "While some large metropolitan areas in the United States, such as Seattle and Boston, are also doing a great deal of sequencing, the country as a whole is missing many areas — and many potential virus variants, as a result. Even in Houston, the study estimates that only about 10 percent of known coronavirus cases have been sequenced." We must continue to be prepared for more mutations. After all we created them simply because we wimped out and were not willing to take the hit up front.

Believe or not a Doctor from Texas has possibly found a Treatment that actually makes sense. In fact, to date this has been the first Treatment that has made perfect sense to me other taking Hydroxychlorquine. For one thing this treatment involves a steroid directly inhaled into the lungs.

If some of this sounds familiar you might remember that Hydroxychlorquine was also touted by President Trump and paired with Azithromycin and Zinc. You may also remember an earlier article I have posted here that "Viruses are PH Sensitive"  What most people fail to understand is that Hydroxychloroquine also helps to create an Alkaline Environment. Something, I have also talked about here on this blog. However, that is not today's topic at hand. "Additionally, he said the National Institute of Health, as well as the countries of France and Spain will be looking into inhaled budesonide treatments." On a personal note. Please let me add that Yahoo News and the NIH will probably put down this new treatment which of course is more reason to tell your doctor you want it. Especially, if you are unlucky enough to catch a case of the dreaded Coronavirus. But please watch the Video above. Some parts are more interesting than others. While Pharmaceutical Companies and Governments around the world are frantically looking for a vaccine, therapies and treatments for The Coronavirus there are some alternatives you may want to consider. With respect to the question; what do you have to lose? You may want to consider Herbs, Nutraceuticals and other Remedies like Baking Soda. In fact, if Natural Remedies are not exactly your cup of tea, other than doing your own careful research you may have a friend that knows something about Natural Remedies or find a doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. As I have also mentioned before in a previous post I am on a Baking Soda Regiment along with a Probiotic, Zinc-Copper Supplement and have now added Vitamin D-3 (cholecalciferol). I take the aforementioned blend together. I also take other Antiviral and Antimicrobial supplements throughout the day but since this is not about me I hope you look into some alternatives that you may be comfortable with. Beside, what is going to happen if you cannot get to your Doctor or in the case of the Grand Solar Minimum we are diving deep into you may have to grow your own Medicine! So, lets begin to look at a couple of ideas which I believe can give you a fairly wide variety of  Antiviral supplements and other alternatives. Some of these alternatives you may be comfortable with and other maybe not. Hopefully you will come up with something that will fit your needs and budget. One thing you can do is go get a Book on healing with Herbs. Not hard to find. Next you can go to a Health food Store and ask questions. Just a couple of thoughts. In the mean time I found a great video by Raphaela Laurean. She really did a great job and hits the nail on the head in regards to Baking Soda and PH and it's effect on Coronavirus. The Video is just over 15 Minutes in length but well worth watching it from beginning to end! So please watch it before we go on.

Hopefully, you watched or will watch the video and get some good information in regards to baking soda above so lets move on. But first, let's look at something I have said on both here and my Facebook Page. That Hydroxychloroquine is something we need to look into a great deal more. Especially if there is a PH Connection. I would not be surprised if President Trump knew about this Drug and it's PH Connection and that is why he is pushing it. Amazingly enough the Video also mentions that this virus thrives in a Low PH Environment. This is why anything that I am taking either increase PH or has an Anti Microbial or Anti Viral affect on the body so the The Coronavirus does not have an Environment it can thrive in. Let me say this in a slightly different way. Taking products like Baking Soda, Certain Vitamins and Anti Viral Supplements helps to create an Environment that the Coronavirus cannot thrive. Now at this point I had been planning a more in depth article that was going to go into a lot of different Supplements. However, I got to thinking that if I keep leading everyone by the nose no one will ever think to do some research themselves. With that on mind you can now do some research on your own and look around for some other ideas. In any event, I am planning a separate article on an Essential Oil mixture that some of you may be interested in which also has a very interesting history!

Earth's Protective Ozone Layer which resides in the area of the Stratosphere is on the mend according to Experts. Actually, The Ozone Layer is repairing itself. In part, this is due to The Montreal Protocol which has restricted the production of Ozone Depleting Substances. Many Class I Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) have already been phased out. The remainder of Class II HCFCs will be phased out with any new production or import of HCFCs phased out by 2020. "The Montreal Protocol was agreed back in 1987 with the intention of protecting the ozone layer and helping it repair itself, and a study released this week has confirmed the protocol is working." As for now, the Ozone layer which is repairing itself is also responsible for absorbing The Sun's Ultraviolet Light (UV). Unfortunately, prolonged exposure to UV is also connected to Skin Cancer. As Ozone (O3) recovers and The Ozone Hole over the Antarctic repairs itself this may of course lesson your chances of skin cancer.
