March 26, 2020 Earth's Protective Ozone Layer which resides in the area of the Stratosphere is on the mend according to Experts. Actually, The Ozone Layer is repairing itself. In part, this is due to The Montreal Protocol which has restricted the production of Ozone Depleting Substances. Many Class I Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) have already been phased out. The remainder of Class II HCFCs will be phased out with any new production or import of HCFCs phased out by 2020. "The Montreal Protocol was agreed back in 1987 with the intention of protecting the ozone layer and helping it repair itself, and a study released this week has confirmed the protocol is working." (Earth's Ozone Layer Appears to be Recovering, Experts Say) However, there are Exemptions allowed under the clean air act. As for now, the Ozone layer which is repairing itself is also responsible for absorbing The Sun's Ultraviolet Light (UV). Unfortunately, prolonged exposure to UV is also connected to Skin Cancer. As Ozone (O3) recovers and The Ozone Hole over the Antarctic repairs itself this may of course lesson your chances of skin cancer. However, there are some unexpected side effects.
