About Rapidcooling.net & 40Northlatitude.com
Notice, the Red Line sits at 40 North Latitude
Please Treat me to a Cup of Coffee -$5, $10 or whatever you can do. This way I can keep sharing articles, data, information and science regarding Real, Sun Driven Climate Change! Thanks in advance!
Rapidcooling.net is the Blog and Companion website to www.40NorthLatitude.com. While Rapidcooling news feeds and other information will appear on 40NorthLatitude, here at Rapidcooling is where we can exchange ideas and discuss the Topic of Climate Change.
There are rules however! This is not Facebook! It is expected we have a serious but polite conversation here at Rapidcooling.net. Posts which are rude and include inappropriate comments will not be tolerated! So yes, come here to comment on the News, Information and Ideas which are presented here. Healthy Criticism of course is always welcome as well as educational. However, if you are coming here to simply Criticize and call those who do not believe CO2 is what Drives Climate, Deniers and Haters then your posts will not be approved and possibly removed.
The Purpose of this Site and Blog is to educate everyone that there is another side to the Climate Change Story! So, state your case and lets enjoy each others time together! One should also note that the philosophy here is that Climate Change is an ongoing process. Unfortunately, the definition of Climate Change has been hijacked to only mean warming. In reality Climate Change Happens. It happens on a Continuous Basis and is Natural aka Natural Climate Variability.
In fact, any time the Climate Changes in either direction Warmer or Cooler, that is Climate Change. So, if you are new to the subject or just like snooping around please do so at the risk of learning that CO2 does not actually Drive The Climate System. However, that Big Beautiful Light Bulb in Sky known as The Sun is what energizes our Planet and The Solar System we reside in. There is in fact no escape from that reality!

Some of you may also wonder why I have also chosen the Title 40 North Latitude for the Companion Site. Honestly, it's not really all that complicated. 40 North Latitude is basically the Southern Most Point where Glaciers extended during the last Glaciation. In a few spots, a little deeper.
Above 40 North Latitude large areas of land were covered by Ice and Snow as well as depressed by the incredible weight and pressure of Pleistocene Glaciers. By the way, I hope you realize the Glaciations cutting across North America did not cut straight across like the Red Line on the Map above. It is however, a good point of Reference to understand where about our Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) came down to.
Currently, without getting into too much detail right here, right now we are currently still in an Ice Age. An Ice age which has been going on for about 2.54 Million Years here in the Northern Hemisphere. Yes, a mere bag of shells you might say. Who cares, right? After all you and I were not around back then. So why should we care? Well, here in North America the most recent Glacial Extent know as the Wisconsin (or Wisconsinan) began somewhere between 70,000 and 75,000 years ago, reached its maximum and ended approximately 11,700 ago. See, that hits a little closer to home and recent history from a Geological Standpoint.
There are in fact a few other details in regards to various Glaciations which have taken place both here in North America as well as other parts of the Globe. However, these Glaciations which have occurred over the past 115,000 years give or take since the end of the previous Interglacial Period know as the Eemian have of course advanced and retreated over time leaving their mark.
By the way the previous Interglacial known as the Eemian Interglacial Period began approximately 130,000 years ago and ended as the Most Recent Glacial Period began around 115,000 years ago. Now, I would love to go into more details here but then of course there would be no need for the rest of this Web Site or Blog. But, at least for now you have a basic idea of just why I have chosen 40 North Latitude and Rapid Cooling.
By the way, I am sure many of you may have also taken notice of the landscape pictures I have at the top of each page. No, it is not some kind of weird fetish or interest I have in pictures or scenery with snow and ice in it. It is however specifically a pictorial commentary of the past and that history repeats itself and where I and others believe we are heading.
