The Sun, our nearest Star is going through a period of Decline in Solar Activity. How long a period of Decline in Solar Activity we will experience is yet to be seen. However, there is much in the way of Historical Data in which we can determine what life may look like as a result of several cycles of Declining Solar Activity. In fact we have already started to descend into A Grand Solar Minimum as of the end of 2008 or early 2009 depending who's interpretation of the data you believe. For today I will not be splitting hairs. I have also mentioned previously that a Super Grand Solar Minimum quite possible. However, whether or not this turns out to be a short term cycle of Solar Decline or long term cycle, one thing is for sure. It will mean big changes of varying degrees for mankind. Right now we are entering the Solar Minimum of Cycle 24. If predictions hold true, Solar Cycle 25 will be a continued decline in Solar Activity as Sun Spot Numbers continue to decrease over each continuous Sun Spot Cycle. There, is one problem however. One of the attached articles "NASA Astronomers Predict Solar Minimum Is Coming" state that Solar Minimum will take place in 2019-2020. But not so fast. Sun Spot Cycles generally last about 11 years from start to finish However, there is some variability.  Sometimes, albeit rare a Sun Spot Cycle can be as short as 9 years or as long as 14 years.  Below, is some of the latest Sun Spot Cycle Data from The Space Weather Prediction Center at NOAA.

As you can see from the graph above Solar Cycle 24 may extend past 2020 and go all the way out to 2022 or 2023. Who knows possibly longer. According to the NOAA website the "Prediction Panel" which consists of members from NOAA, NASA and ISES (International Space Environment Service) predicted what the Maximum number of Sun Spots peaking in May of 2013 was supposed to be. However, ""The Prediction Panel (which) forecasts the sunspot number expected for solar maximum and had predicted a maximum of 90 occurring in May, 2013.  While awaiting final confirmation, all evidence points to the most recent solar maximum having peaked at 82 in April, 2014.  This was within the expected range for the peak, but occurred significantly later than predicted."" (source; Space Weather Prediction Center, NOAA; Details)  The first question which should be considered is if the peak of Cycle 24 peaked 11 Months later will we enter Sun Spot Cycle 25 11 months later or a period of time which may be exponential? No one knows because we really do not know when one cycle ends until the next Sun Spot Cycle begins. But what about Sun Spot Cycle 23? Below will Sun Spot Cycle 23 again from The Space Weather Prediction Center at NOAA. Now, instead of me telling you what is going here how about you put aside the CO2 hype for a while and and figure out for yourselves what is going with our nearest star. In the mean time for those of you out there who believe that CO2 Drives Climate start applying some common sense! 

Could you imagine if your home town; lets say like a Little Village where I went to school in Ardsley NY had 50 feet of snow in one winter? Well in parts of the Sierra Nevada that is exactly what happened this past winter. Yes, of course they are Ski Resort areas but all that snow melts and fills the rivers, lakes, streams and reservoir systems. At least for now the drought is over. 

Oh, by the way have I mentioned we are entering a Grand Solar Minimum or maybe worse. If not maybe I should mention you may not get 50 feet of snow in your city. But 49 feet may suffice. Now, before I comment on the Article there is something that needs to be said about Climate or any other happenings like Earth Quakes, Volcanic Eruptions, Hurricanes, Tsunamis or anything else that Mother Nature throws in our direction. The First thing you need to know is that Mother Nature does not care about me or you or your kids, your Grandchildren, your family or even your Chia Pet. Whether we are warming or cooling there is nothing we can do about it with current technology and so what we need to do is adapt or die. Which by the way is more than likely to happen anyway and yes in our very near future; and you can thank the Global Warming Crowd for that because they have left us all up a creek without a paddle! So, if your pumping gas in an area where there is a major earth quake and the gas station explodes your gonna die! That's Reality. If your too close to a Volcano and you get over taken by Lava, the Flesh is going to burn right off your bones. Why? Because the Earth and or Mother Nature do not give a crap about you. You, your friends and family, Bowling Buddies, Karaoke Friends, Members of your Church or Synagogue are nothing if the Earth or Climate wants us gone, that's it. I'm sorry to sound so harsh but quite honestly people need to wake up! CO2 is not your enemy but a Grand Solar Minimum will be!

In April we should be growing crops with little or no issues. But around the world we are seeing more and more crop failures and growing problems. Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, Children of all ages and others TSI is dropping. As TSI drops there will be more and more crop failures. Name a Fruit or Vegetable or Grain and as Total Solar Irradiation drops it too shall fail. Yes, of course some edibles more than others. However, this is the second year in a row where wine growers have had to deal with the kind of cold which damages crops. At this time I am not going to going into a whole lot of detail about TSI but when TSI Drops Blight may become rampant as it did during the LIA. Please tell me if we have the same type of crop failure around the Earth as we did during the LIA how are we going to feed 7 plus Billion People? Not gonna happen. And what I am saying here is less than the abridged version of the crop failure story. There is more to come. In fact I will more than likely dedicate a whole section on www.40northlatitude.com in regards to crop failure and the LIA. In the mean time make friends with some people with a few extra pounds. You may have to eventually herd them and eat them!

But there several terrific articles linked within including a article in regards to a CME similar to the 1859 Carrington Event that missed the Earth in 2012. If it hit us full force we may have suffered 2.6 Trillion in damages.

I would like all of you out there who ever met me in person for as long as I have been talking about the Man Made Global Warming Scam; also doing so on facebook since 2012 or so and now here to consider the first line of the linked article. "It is easy to forget just how variable the climate of Earth has been, across the Geological time scale" Now, on both my main web site 40Northlatitude and this site I am trying to do my best not to get too political. However, lets consider the source of this article. The New Yorker is well known to have a left leaning media bias. Having said that it is important to understand exactly what that opening sentence means. Very simply, Climate is neither static or Linear. Nor has it ever been! Nor will it ever be in Earth's Geological History in the near future. The Climate and its associate weather, weather patterns and every measurable change in temperature, precipitation, humidity etc. are not static in any way or form. There are long and short term Climate Cycles and everything in between. The article also mentions that temperatures dropped as much as 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit. More specifically I like to say that it depends at what point during the LIA you are talking about and where you were living at the time just how the Temperature and the Weather may have affected you. In some places to was a 1-3 or 2-4 degree drop in temperature. But none of that is important right now. What does standout however, is the idea that on March 25 of 2019 an article like this would appear in the New Yorker or anywhere near the Liberal Media. But I will say it is refreshing! Furthermore the article is not meant to overly scientific by any means does not go into other periods of warming and cooling over the last 11,700 years of the Holocene Epoch. It does however, paint a very nice but simple picture of where we stand right now in geologic terms.

 If you want to understand the bias and fraudulent reporting that goes just to appease AGW crowd you should read this article. But just like Michael Mann wants to pretend the Medieval Warming Period never happened the study quoted in this article omitted a period of cooling which to place between 1961 and 1984-85. Also, interesting enough something not talked about in this article is how the Temperature Data of the 1930's was manipulated. (of course not) However, the article does mention and I quote "The annual mean air temperature in the region, which includes portions of the U.S. Midwest , Northeast and southern Canada, rose 1.6 degrees (-16.9 Celsius) from 1901-60." How convenient. The Temperature Data of the 30's was manipulate to show cooler temps but here included to show warming between 1901 and 1960. You can't have it both ways. I am also amazed in regards to the duality of Warmists who love to separate Climate and Weather and then claim the Weather will change because of Climate Change. Well yes. If the Climate Changes warmer or colder the corresponding weather and weather patterns  will change along with it. But yet we had record Ice the past couple of years on the Great Lakes.

If you have ever heard about The Carrington Event, this study talks about two Solar events on Steroids as compared to the Carrington Event. If an event like what is described from both 2610 BP and 774/775 AD were to repeat itself today; in our age electronics nothing would be safe.  The grid which is not hardened against an EMP from the Sun would be knocked out and it would be anyone's guess to how many decades it would take to recover.
