Look at this. A midweek Snow Storm in Colorado. An event that will likely continue through Thursday and Friday. How much snow depends on Temperature as the article points out. However, please don't forget it's getting closer to summer as we take a stroll through the Month of May. To add insult to injury hail may also be part of the equation.
