NOAA, Global Monitoring Laboratory; Earth System Research Laboratory; Monthly Average Mauna Loa CO2
The Numerical Value is a measurement in Parts Per Million. (PPM) The Observe Value of 429.35 PPM is for the Month of February 2026.
The Numerical Value is a measurement in Parts Per Million. (PPM) The Observed Value of 427.09 PPM for the Month of February 2025
The Year To Date Departure is The Numerical Value in Parts Per Million between the Historical Value of a given month and The Current Observed Value One 12 Months or 1 Year later. In this case the Difference Between February of 2025 (Start Point) and February of 2026 (End Point); Atmospheric CO2 increased over this period of time by a value 2.26. However, the amount of the Increase in CO2 does not illustrate what impact an increase in CO2 has had or will have on the Climate System over a 12 Month Period Time or Longer. One should also not Imply the effect an increase or decrease in CO2 has on the Climate System based on relatively short periods of time. Correlation is not Causation.
As Per NOAA; "The estimated uncertainty in the annual mean is the standard deviation # of the differences of annual mean values determined independently by # NOAA/ESRL and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography." For a complete analysis of the annual mean DATA click this link below;
fThis Graph Represents the annual mean Carbon Dioxide growth rates at The Mauna Loa Observatory since 1959. Decadal Averages of growth rate are shown as Horizontal Black Lines and begin with 1960. For Example the first plotted horizontal line runs from 1960 through 1969.
